Penny Hardaway was going to be a star. He was going to be an NBA superstar. He was a sure-fire Hall of Famer. He was the first player in the Jordan era to have a signature sneaker when players not named Michael Jordan didn't have signature sneakers. Penny and Shaquille O'Neal were going to win more than their fair share of NBA Finals Championships as members of the Orlando Magic. Penny was a lock to get as many championship rings as Jordan. It all just didn't happen. But hey, at least his shoe legacy lives on thanks to cheap nike running shoes. Penny was born Anfernee Deon Hardaway and was given his nickname by his Grandmother who called him "Pretty" in her southern drawl which everyone understood to be "Penny". Hardaway was a college phenom at Memphis and had his best years as a professional with Orlando.
Unfortunately, Penny was constantly plagued with injuries. Injuries that prevented him from being the prolific player he could have eventually become. Although Hardaway did put up some very impressive numbers and earned All-NBA honors, the shoes in his signature sneaker line may be more prolific than his career ever was. The first signature nike shoes online that Nike dropped with Penny Hardaway's name on it was the Air Max Penny 1. The shoe was an overwhelming success with sneakerheads. It featured an oversized jeweled Swoosh and used a visible wraparound Max Air unit in the sole. It is still considered the most coveted Penny signature sneaker. Following in the footsteps of this shoe were the Air Penny 2, Air Penny 3, and the infamous Air Foamposite One. Although Penny's playing days may be over his shoe legacy lives on.
Within the last couple of years Nike has re-energized its Air Penny signature sneaker shoe line. They have released the Foamposite, 1/2 Cent, and Air Max Penny's in a variety of colorways. The most recent release of a shoe in this signature sneaker line was the . This new shoe was made up of a Black/Dark Grey/and White color scheme and is one sick looking pair of kicks. Like the original shoe, this edition comes complete with a visible cheap nike free run, oversized jeweled Swoosh, and the classic 1 Cent Penny logo at the heel. This is indeed an epic shoe that has stood the test of time. Nike shoes for basketball don't get any more iconic than this. I have been an avid sneakerhead for 40 years. From running shoes to my true passion, basketball shoes, I own more pairs of shoes than I can count. Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, and Reebok are dropping some pretty sick kicks right now. If you are like a sneakerhead like me, you truly can't wait for tomorrow when news of a new sneaker drop will be announced.
